Update Codecs For Multimedia

Audio and video files are stored and read using codecs (compressor/decompressor). Codecs are occasionally upgraded to add new features, provide better file compression, and improve multimedia quality. Codecs can always play older files on newer versions, but you can not play newer versions of files on older version of codecs. If you ever come accross a video or audio file that will not play on your computer, you can try to upgrade your codecs by going to the manufacturer's web site for your multimedia software to see if they have a newer version of a codec.
